Per Ancestry.com: Married Katarina Odvody in Domazlice on 11-10-1885. They had two children: Jacob V. and Mary or Marie. Katerina Odvody died in Bohemia in 5-1904. Jakub came to the US on 5-11-1904. He married Anna Kadlec on 6/12/1906. They had three children: John J. Edward R., James Joseph.
His parents, Adalbert and Marie (Hrbacek) Sloup are not the same as Mrs. Andrew (Andreas) Marie (Hrbacek) Sloup who died in 1935. According to ancestry.com Jakub's mother, Marie (Hrbacek) Sloup died in 1866.
He arrived on the ship Kaiser Wilhelm II on 5/11/1904 arriving in NY,NY. Jakub was a widower age 40 and his son Jacob was age 16 and daughter Marie was age 13. His destination was an Uncle living in Omaha. His occupation was a carpenter. In 1905 he was living in Omaha at the same address as Adam J. Sloup. In 1910 he was living in Brainard working as a house carpenter.
