Born in Hampshire Co. West VA in 1820. Married there and they eventually had 9 children, five girls and four boys. They moved from West VA to Green Co. WI then to Jasper Co. Iowa, from there to Butler Co. NE. He moved to Chambers in 1900 where his son Charles W. and his wife lived, and he eventually died there. No mention of Civil War service in his obit.
