This is a painting or painted photograph of the hotel, which was located on the northwest corner of 4th & D Streets (site of the current post office). 2nd from the left is Perkins, Margaret; 3rd from the left is Perkins, Benjamin O. Mrs.; 4th from the left is Perkins, Benjamin O., Jr. The Hotel was originally the old Courthouse, built in 1870, in Savannah (the first county seat). It was purchased by B.O. Perkins and moved to David City in 1873. It was destroyed by a hurricane in 1887.
