1904 tax roll lists the owner as Lillian Abbott, Blk. 38, Lot 8 & north 1/2 of 9, Oirg. DC, value $190. The home is not longer on this site. Charles Abbott History: In 1898, Charles and Lillian Abbott purchased a home with a large lot at 681 A Street in David City. Their home became a gathering place for family and became the home of 5 generations of the Abbott family. Duane & Lillian Moeller (their granddaughter)were the last Abbott descendants to live in the home. Charles Abbott owned farms, raised livestock, started Abbott Ice Co and Abbott Ice and Beverage Co, "Abbott's Ponds" and furnished ice for many David City residents.
