McKnight, George Home

1904 tax roll lists the owner as George McKnight, Block 1, Lots 1 & 4, Litty's 2nd Addition, value $220. The home is no longer located on the corner of 8th & K Streets. Margaret McKnight lived in David City but also owned the farm 3/4 miles south of the southwest corner of David City. Her three granddaughters attended the North Ward school, which was located on K St., between5th & 6th Streets. Her son, Geoge S. McKnight, followed his father in the work of blacksmithing and worked in a shop on 5th St., across the street from the Perkin's Hotel.
