Crumb, J. C. J.C. , born in Iowa, raised in Kansas, student at Doane College in Crete, NE, was a school teacher in Butler County, NE. He married one of his pupils (Mary Arehart) 8/9/1891. Their first child, a son, Earnest, died at age 3 of diptheria and is buried in the David City Cemetery near his grandparents. J.C. and his wife are buried in Harlan County, NE at the Bainbridge Cemetery.
