    James was born in Butler Co.,PA, 8/28/1832, the son of James and Nancy (Day) Blair. Mary (Brown) Blair was born 11/22/1830, in Ireland, the daughter of David and Isabelle Brown. They were married: 2/16/1854 in PA. They came west with their 2 oldest children and settled near Linwood, NE, in 1858 but were living in Saunders Co., NE, in 1860 according to census records. They homesteaded 160 acres of land in Bone Creek Twp. in 1863. They were the earliest, white settlers in Butler Co., NE. James died 9/13/1911 and Mary died 5/19/1921.
