    Born in Herkimer County, NY. Moved to Wisconsin in 1853. Elected Deputy Sheriff in 1861 and Sheriff in 1863. Moved to Iowa in 1876. Moved to Ulysses, Butler Co., NE, in 1883 with his son, Elbert. Appointed Postmaster of Ulysses. Obituary lists death date as 3-21-1889. Married9/7/1848.
