    He graduated from Aquina High School where he was an accomplished athlete and a rcipient of the Cardinal Newman Award. Married 8/12/1967 in Ulysses.
    He began his career in eduation, first as a high school physics teacher, coaching several sports and later becoming a high school principal in Anthon, Iowa, East Butler, Brainard, NE, St. May's Catholic School in David City and then at Columbus Scotus.
    The highlight of his Catholic faith was traveling to Medjugorje, Bosnia Herzegovinia , where the apparations of the Virgin Mary have been reported since 1981.
    At one time he owned Kobza Kettle Corn in Columbus.
