    Born in Horka, town of Vlasim, county of Tabor, Bohemia. He married Barbora Semrad in 10/20/1862. He lived in Omaha and was visiting his son, Joseph, in Ulysses when he died there. His first wife, Barbora Semrad Jakl is buried in the Old Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Brainard. His second wife, Josephine (Maca) Winther, whom he married on 6/16/1909 in Omaha, is buried in the David City Cem. Per her obit, she died in Columbus and had her funeral from St. Boneventure Catholic Church and was buried in David City.
    Other family member state that Josef Jakl is buried in the Omaha Bohemian Cemetery, no stone, with a death date of Sept. 1909.
