Born in Ireland. Immigrated to the U.S. with his parents at six months of age. The family settled near Peoria, Illinois. He came to Nebraska in 1876, settling in Saunders County for two years. He moved to Butler Co., NE and married Annie Tarpy 4-14-1879 in Columbus, Platte Co., Nebraska. She died in 1928.
