    Born in Meggs Co., Ohio. Moved to Wisconsin with his parents. Married 12-15-1859 in Columbia Co., Wisconsin. Co. C, 42nd Wisconsin Infantry, Civil War Veteran. Came to Butler Co., NE, in the spring of 1870 with his wife. They homesteaded, living in a sod house for several years. They farmed in Reading township for 43 years. He died at age 84 years.
