He joined the US Army on 1/17/1951. After completing his training he was sent to Korea manning an artillery Howitzer gun, clearing the way for the infantry ground troops. He was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, from June to Aug. 1952. Then he was assigned to Austria and Germany.Married 9/11/1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Valparaiso, NE.
