    Unmarked grave. Born in Hanover, Germany. He came to America in 1844, first settling in Iowa, where he later married Hannah Roth on 4-9-1860. Prior to that he had followed the throngs to seek a fortune in the gold rush of CA. After his wife died out in western Nebraska, he became
    a hired man for David Siffring. He lived and worked with Siffring for 15 years before he died.
