    Born at Millville, Clayton County, Iowa. He was married to Sarah. She died 12-23-1880 when their son, Bert, was about one year old. Sarah is buried in Goshen Cemetery, Clayton County, Iowa. Charles and his son, Bert, moved to Butler County, Nebraska circa 1881, settling on a farm near Linwood. He married Helen Browning circa 1883 in Butler County, Nebraska. They were the parents of 4 daughters. Helen died in 1898. He married Amanda Husenetter in 1899. Amanda died in 1939. Charles died in Snowflake, Manitoba, Canada
