Born in Wisconsin. The 1880 Census showed he worked on a farm with Thomas Donahue in Franklin precinct in Butler County. At one time he lived with Mrs. Fenlon. He was either her necphew or her brother. His obit in the People's Banner dated Oct. 19, 1922 stated he was a cousin of Nicholas Fenlon of David City. He had also worked as a farm laborer for the Nicholas Meysenburg farm. In 1914 he lived at the county farm.
