    Born in Ireland. Came to U. S. in & Ne. in 1870. Homesteaded in Polk in 1871. Came to David City in 1877 & started the first lumber yard. Later in built the first elevator in town. In 1879 he started the Farmers & Merchants Bank & first electric-plant.
