    Born in Hartland, Somerset, Maine. Moved to Illinois in 1856. Married Anna 3-1-1858 in Illinois. Enlisted in Co. C, 78th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, Civil War Veteran in 1862. Anna died in 1867. Married Tabitha 3-11-1869, Hamilton, Hancock, Illinois. Homesteaded in Nebraska in 1871.
