No dates on stone. Civil War Veteran. Ancestry.com shows that he served in the 16th Infanty Regiment Conneticut, Co. F. His parents married on 10/6/1846 in Hartford CN. In the 1870 Census he worked in an iron foundry in Hartford. His father was born in 1817 and died in 1873. His mother was born 12/22 or 25/1823 in CN. They had three other children: Fred Thomas (1849-1909), Laura Carpenter (1854-1919) and Harriet Sarah "Hattie" (1857-1932). They might also had another daughter, Antoinette L. Age 24 in the 1870 Census.
In the 1850 Census the family lived in New Haven, CN. The 1860 Census showed they lived back in Hartford CN.
Charles's mother remarried to John Dean (1803-?) They were married in Butler Co., David City, Nebraska on 11/28/1877. He was age 74 and Diana was age 52.
