    Born in Morgantown, VA (which is now WVA). Union, Civil War Veteran, Co. D, 3rd WV Cavalry. Married 2-23-1869 in Dunkard, PA. Went to Hamburg, IA, in 1969 where Mrs. Garlow remained for the winter while William came to NE to claim their homestead.
