    Born in Popuvky near Brno, Moravia. Married in 1869 in Moravia. Immigrated with his wife and 7 children to New York 9-15-1880 on the ship "Hohenzollern". Came to NE in 1892 or 1893 and had 9 more children, raiseing all 16 children to adulthood. They owned the Washington Hotel in David City.
