McElvain, Isabelle

Age: 1 month, 2 days. "Sweet flower twas planted to a clime where never comes the blithe of time. Her parents most likely were Samuel S. And Amanda J. (Simpson) McElvain. Amanda was the first white child born in Butler County, on 10/8/1860 at Savannah. She is the daughter of Charles H. and Sibel Simpson. She married Samuel in Oct. 1878. Samuel was born in Sangamon Co., ILL on 1/13/1851 and came to Nebraska in May 1871; homesteaded on Oak Creek near Brainard, in Section 24.
