Age: 30 years. Mathew B. was Married: 4/6/1880 in Butler Co. His parents' names were taken for his marriage certificate. He was age 26 and Elmah was age 18. Matt Logan was a half brother to Thomas Logan, the founder of Brainard. Matt established a grocery store where the Talbot Hotel once stood; on the corner of Washigton and Lincoln Street in Brainard. In the 1882 History book about Nebraska, by Andreas, his biography is listed under the name Mathew B. Morgan in error. It states he was a dealer in gerneral merchandise in Brainard, coming to Nebraska in Nov. 1875, and located with his brother, Thomas, on his farm, where he resided till the fall of 1877. Then he engaged with his brother in the store until Oct. 1879; then started a store for himself, where he now is. He was born in Lackawanna County, PA, Aug. 2, 1853. He started the third store at Brainard; is a member of Harmony Lodge, #31 I.O.O.F in David City. He married Elmah Canarro, of Butler County, NE on April 6, 1881.
