    Born in Rutherford Co., TN. His parents moved to Missouri in 1829. Married Phoebe Crowley, 3/25/1841, in Ray Co., MO. He organized a wagon train and arrived in NE in May, 1865. They were the 1st settlers on Oak Creek in Butler Co. He was the first postmaster of the Post Office in Urban, NE. He died in Brainard, Butler Co., NE. "At Rest."
