Born in Hrotovice, Moravia. Married in 1889 in Linwood, NE, and moved to Bruno in 1891. In 1893 he was elected trustee of the first village board. He organized the C. D. P. S. & Z. C. B. J. lodges in Bruno. Was one of the founders of Turner Hall & the Bohemian National cemetery. Age: 63 years, 1 month, 15 days.
